Madison Wedding Venue Garver Feed Mill

If you’re looking for a Madison WI wedding venue, let us introduce you to a spectacular new venue that just opened, Garver Feed Mill. Now, we might be a tiny bit biased about this space, since it’s where our studio is located. When we chose this location for the new Twig & Olive studio, we loved everything about it; so, hear us out while we tell you about this next-generation community space to host your wedding at.

Built back in 1906 as a sugar beet processing center, the Garver building has long been an iconic part of the landscape of Madison’s east side. Because of its gothic appearance, it was called “The Sugar Castle.” It was sold in 1929 and became a feed mill but closed in 1997 and has stood empty since that time.

In 2015 the building was purchased, and reconstruction began to become a food production center, restaurant and event space. Garver places a high value on sustainable and local and has a commitment to community-based activities and events. We can’t help but be proud of this place, and we have some of the most amazing local eateries and artisans within steps of our studio door!

As a Madison WI wedding venue, the event space has an industrial look that is a complete raw canvas in terms of what you could do for décor. The main atrium features sealed flooring, soaring walls of cream city brick, and tons of natural light throughout. A second story open walkway allows for a birds-eye view of the space for your guests to mingle. Modern wrought iron ceiling lighting features complement the aesthetic, giving the whole place a chic but retro vibe.

You can have your entire event here at Garver, the mezzanine level has space for your wedding party to get ready, and the ceremony can be held in the atrium. During the room flip for the reception, guests can enjoy two private patios outdoors, and stroll the grounds around the building.

For wedding photography, this Madison WI wedding venue is a dream. The building itself is updated yet historic inside and out, and within minutes we can be at Olbrich Gardens for wedding party photos or wedding couple portraits. It’s always a plus when you don’t have to travel far away from the party but still have the opportunity to have varied locations and looks for your photos.

It’s also a great choice if you have a large guest list because this is one of the few spaces that can accommodate large weddings in the Madison area. This Madison WI wedding venue can host up to 530 guests indoors, and 280 guests for an outdoor wedding. Bonus: you don’t have to worry about traffic or parking if the Badgers are playing on your wedding day as it is well away from the fray of the campus!
