Wedding Planning Guide 4 | Details!

Say yes to the dress … and suit!

Be open to the possibilities of what your creativity can come up with!

So many things are special about your wedding day. You only have this one time to wear your bridal gown and specially tailored suit so why not make it uniquely you! This doesn’t have to mean extra cost either, as with some ideas from places like Etsy or inspiration on Pinterest, you can design the perfect ensemble with flair that is meaningful only to the both of you. There are no rules on what you have to wear, and if you’re more comfortable in off-the-shoulder dresses with a wrap or sleeves, go for it! (We do need to briefly mention how much we love sleeves … just sayin’!) Have a favorite pair of comfortable shoes? How fun! Want to wear jewelry from grandma? It will make for meaningful portraits. There is no limit to what you can do!

It’s in the Details

What amazing details go into the most wonderful day ever?

While the details may seem small compared to your venue or guest list, these bits of personal connection help define your wedding theme. Try customizing your shoes with delicate pearl buttons that may have been your mother’s. Entertain the idea of having a naked cake, pies, or even donuts for a delicious twist. Use uncommon or non-native flowers and plants such as ranunculus, succulents, or proteas in your decor. These are the smaller, sometimes unnoticed details that tell the story of your special day. Whether it’s your bouquet or your jewelry or your something blue, it’s all a part of your distinct personalities.

Commitment and Celebration

How do you make your ceremony and party truly unique?

Your ceremony and vows are the heart and soul of your wedding day. Perhaps take a nontraditional approach and create a unique experience for your guests. Walk down the aisle to the instrumental version of your favorite soundtrack or ask someone close to you to sing an a cappella version of your favorite song. After the rings are exchanged, treat your friends and family to dinner and drinks under the stars. Spice up the marriage celebration with a cigar and whiskey bar, a s’mores station, or even a bean bag tournament. Instead of going with a traditional DJ, think about hiring your favorite local band to keep the party going well into the night. Get creative and have a blast!
