COOKIE POLICY

Last updated September 9, 2026

This policy explains how Twig & Olive Photography LLC ("we," "us," and "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on twigandolive.com. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and how to contact us about your rights.

Your Choices

Optional tracking starts only after you make an affirmative choice. You can select Accept all, Reject optional, or Settings to make separate Analytics and Marketing choices. Scrolling, continuing to browse, closing settings without saving a choice, or giving no answer does not grant permission. Sending an inquiry or making a purchase is separate from choosing optional tracking.

Analytics permission allows measurement of website visits and inquiries with Google Analytics. Marketing permission allows advertising measurement with Google and Meta and the inquiry source-history feature described below. Choosing Analytics alone does not allow Marketing tracking. Necessary functions, including forms, security, accounts and shopping, remain available when you reject optional tracking.

You can review or withdraw either choice at any time using the Cookie settings button on the website. We store your saved choices in a first-party preference cookie named to_consent_v1 for up to 180 days from the time you save them. An ordinary return visit does not restart that period. If the choice expires, is missing or cannot be read as valid, optional tracking stays off until you make a new choice. Your browser can remove the cookie sooner.

When your browser sends Global Privacy Control (GPC), Marketing stays off, including when an older saved choice allowed it. The signal does not grant Analytics permission. Removing the signal does not automatically restore a previous Marketing grant. GPC is a browser privacy choice; it does not identify or automatically delete a previous inquiry. See our browser privacy signal information.

Understanding Cookies and Browser Storage

Cookies are small data files stored by your browser. They can support website functions or record visit information. A first-party cookie is set for the website you visit; it can still be used for analytics or advertising. Websites can also use local storage and session storage. Local storage has no automatic expiration, while session storage is associated with a browser tab's page session.

Tags and pixels can transmit information without setting a cookie. Our optional measurement controls therefore govern the integrated tracking tags as well as their use of browser storage. Information recorded by these technologies can be personal information even if it does not contain your name.

Necessary Website Functions

We use WooCommerce to operate our shop. Its functional cookies can keep track of a cart and associate it with the current customer session. Other necessary storage supports account access, website security and your saved privacy choices. Analytics and advertising do not become necessary simply because they use first-party storage.

Analytics and Inquiry Measurement

When you allow Analytics, Google Analytics 4 helps us understand website use and measure inquiries. Information can include pages and referrals, the form used, the service category, the submission method and an event identifier. Google documents cookies such as _ga and _ga_; actual lifetimes depend on configuration and browser limits. See Google's cookie documentation and Google's Privacy Policy.

When either Analytics or Marketing measurement is allowed, a session-storage record named to_pending_lead can help recognize a successful contact form submission after a reload. It holds the form identifier, service category and timestamp, without your name, email address or message. It is removed when the confirmation is checked or when both optional purposes are off; otherwise it remains subject to the browser's page-session lifecycle. Each measurement destination still follows its own permission category.

Marketing and Inquiry Source History

When you allow Marketing, our advertising measurement can use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and associated permitted measurement routes. Meta provides further information in its Privacy Policy.

Marketing permission also allows us to remember how you first found the website and your latest qualifying referral or campaign visit. This inquiry attribution can include source, medium, campaign name, term and content, advertising click identifiers, landing-page paths, referring website host names and timestamps. If you submit an inquiry with source information, it can be linked to the contact information you provide. Our team can copy the source summary into ShootQ, our client management system. Following a scheduling link with added source information sends the included parameters to Calendly.

This feature uses first-party cookies named to_ft and to_lt, with corresponding local-storage records as a fallback. It checks record age when it starts on a page and when Marketing permission changes from denied to granted. At those checks, a first-touch record is usable for up to 90 days from its recorded visit and a last-touch record for up to 30 days from its qualifying visit. An ordinary direct return does not restart those records' cookie expiration.

Information already loaded on an open page can remain available for form and scheduling-link use until another capture check or a closed Marketing choice. Focusing or submitting a form does not perform a fresh attribution age check. Local storage does not automatically disappear when a cookie expires; physical copies can remain until the site, you or your browser removes them. These 90-day and 30-day limits are not automatic deletion periods for copies already received in forms, emails, ShootQ or Calendly.

When Marketing is off or withdrawn, the inquiry attribution feature stops storing source history, filling attribution fields and adding source parameters to scheduling links. It removes its own cookies and local-storage records where browser access permits, and clears source information it added to unsubmitted forms and scheduling links on the page. It cannot recall information already sent. Contact [email protected] to make a privacy request about an existing record.

With Marketing permission, our WooCommerce shop can use first-party source cookies named sbjs_* to remember referral and campaign information and associate it with orders. Analytics permission alone does not allow this shop source collection. When Marketing is off or withdrawn, the source cookies and source information in unsubmitted checkout fields are cleared where browser access permits. This does not automatically erase information already saved with an order. Necessary cart and checkout functions remain available without optional tracking.

Browser Controls and Existing Records

Your browser settings can block cookies and clear cookies or other site data. Blocking necessary storage can affect your cart or sign-in. Removing cookies alone may leave local storage or session storage in place. Consult your browser's help menu or these guides:

Google offers a Google Analytics opt-out add-on for supported browsers and Analytics JavaScript. It does not block all tracking or information you send directly to us.

Withdrawing browser permission stops the corresponding future optional tracking. It does not automatically erase records already received by us or a technology provider. Browser storage lifetimes are separate from retention in analytics systems and business records. Our Privacy Policy explains retention and privacy-request options.
