“Still Makes Me Tear Up” | UW Arboretum Family Session, Summer
Some images hold more than a moment. This UW Arboretum family session in summer was shot on a beautiful June evening at the UW Arboretum, and the mama’s explanation of her favorite image was deeply moving.
“Non-traditional, but I loved this image. JJ and I have spent a lot of time recently reflecting on how quickly our kids have grown and that soon they will be old enough to move out. This one struck me because Boden looks both parts a ‘big kid’ and the little baby I cuddled in our newborn session nearly a decade ago. You captured it perfectly and it still makes me tear up.”
A UW Arboretum Family Session in Summer That Holds a Decade
A decade between a newborn session and this frame. That is the kind of timeline photography can hold. When a mama looks at her growing son and sees both the big kid and the baby she once cuddled, the image becomes something more than a portrait. It becomes a bridge between chapters. That is the power of coming back to us year after year.
The UW Arboretum in summer is lush, green, and full of life. The winding paths and dappled light create family portraits with a timeless, natural quality that ages beautifully.
