Pumpkin Hill Creek Spring Photos: Sandy Trails & Big Laughs

Three kids under five, two moms who weren’t afraid to get sandy, and the kind of golden Florida light that makes our job easy. These Pumpkin Hill Creek spring photos reminded us why outdoor family sessions are our favorite kind of work. Nothing scripted, nothing stiff, just a family being exactly who they are on a warm evening at the preserve.

Let the Kids Lead

We tell every family the same thing before a session: don’t try to control the chaos. Lean into it. The tickle fights, the wiggly toddlers, the moments where someone bolts down the trail at full speed. That’s real life, and real life photographs better than anything we could pose.

Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park gave us exactly the backdrop we wanted. Sandy paths lined with saw palmettos and tall pines, warm tones everywhere, and enough open space for little legs to run without limits. We shot wide through the trees to let the landscape breathe, then pulled in tight for the quiet stuff.

And then there was the baby. Brand new, completely unbothered by the world, tucked against mom while everyone else played in the sand around them. Those in-between frames where tenderness and chaos exist in the same shot are the ones we live for.
