Little Ones, Big Memories: Spring Greenhouse Mommy and Me
Green velvet, red curls, and rows of plants stretching in every direction. This spring greenhouse mommy and me session at Klein’s Floral & Greenhouses in Madison had the kind of color and warmth we dream about.
Why a Greenhouse Works So Well for Portraits
We have photographed families in parks, fields, and studios. But there is something about a greenhouse that changes the energy entirely. The light is soft and even. The colors surround you from every angle. We didn’t have to chase golden hour or worry about clouds. The space did the heavy lifting, and we got to focus on what matters: the connection between this mama and her daughter.
These two were playful together. Twirling, walking the aisles, laughing at nothing in particular. That’s when we do our best work. When a family forgets we’re even holding a camera, everything just opens up. Mom wore this gorgeous green velvet gown that picked up the tones of every plant around her. Honestly, it was a photographer’s dream. The whole palette just clicked.
If you’ve been thinking about a greenhouse mom and me session, Klein’s is one of our favorite spots in Madison. The variety of plants gives every frame a different backdrop. It works beautifully for spring and early summer when everything is lush and full. Check out more of our work on the family photography portfolio to see how we approach sessions like this one.
When is the best time of year for a greenhouse session at Klein’s?
Spring and early summer are ideal. The plants are at their fullest, and natural light through the glass panels is warm and even. We recommend booking between late April and June for the best greenery and blooms.
