Emily & Luke’s Romantic Spring Wedding at The Lageret
Deep burgundy ranunculus, lace sleeves catching golden hour light, and a bridal party that could not stop laughing. Emily and Luke’s spring celebration at The Lageret in Stoughton Wisconsin had the kind of rich, jewel-toned palette that makes our job feel effortless. From the first detail shots on those dark hardwood floors to a sparkler exit under the brick archway, this day was layered with warmth and intention.
Details Worth Lingering On
The morning started with quiet energy. Emily’s lace gown was hanging in the bridal suite, and the detail table looked like a still life: copper geometric ring boxes, satin heels, a deep green invitation suite, and that moody bouquet. Burgundy, blush, and trailing greenery. Flora Designs by Jamae did something really special here. The colors felt like a painting, and we pulled in tight to capture the texture of every petal against those worn wood surfaces.
Meanwhile, the bridesmaids were holding up their dark emerald dresses on hangers. All of them wore matching striped button-downs, grinning like the day hadn’t even started yet. That reveal moment when Emily stepped out brought genuine gasps. Hands over mouths, eyes going wide. Down the hall, Luke’s groomsmen were roughhousing and helping him into his jacket. Two totally different energies, both completely real. Those are the frames we reach for every time.
Brick Walls and Soft Light
We have a thing for The Lageret. The exposed brick, the massive wooden trusses, the way natural light pours through those arched windows during a late-afternoon ceremony. Emily and Luke exchanged vows beneath a draped white fabric backdrop, flanked by their wedding party. We shot wide to showcase the scale of the space because that ceiling deserves to be in the frame. The industrial bones of this building give every ceremony a gravity that newer venues just can’t replicate.
After the ceremony, we headed outside for portraits. The spring light did not disappoint. Bare trees and damp pavement might not sound romantic, but when the sun drops low and catches a lace-sleeved gown from behind, everything turns gold. There’s an old red boxcar near the venue, and we used it as a backdrop for a few cinematic frames. Emily’s dress caught the wind at one point. You can’t plan moments like that. You just stay ready.
Reception Energy and a Sparkler Send-Off
The reception space was glowing. String lights stretched between those heavy timber beams, round tables dressed in neutral linens. A chalkboard welcome sign spelled out the couple’s timeline in hand lettering. If you’re considering The Lageret in Stoughton Wisconsin for your own celebration, know that the transition from ceremony to reception is seamless. Same room, totally different mood once the lights come down and the music starts.
The cake from Bloom Bake Shop was a textured buttercream beauty stacked with burgundy peonies and eucalyptus. Simple, bold, and perfectly on theme. That shift from polished ceremony to late-night party energy is something we live for. Emily and Luke’s crowd delivered. The night ended with a sparkler exit outside the venue’s arched doors, guests cheering while the newlyweds kissed in the middle of it all. This is the kind of romantic spring wedding photography that reminds us why we love what we do.
