Stephanie & Timothy’s Vintage Fields Fall Wedding in Columbus

Leather suspenders, a hand-stitched heart sewn into a jacket lining, and a “Forever My Babe” message hidden where only the groom would find it. Stephanie and Timothy’s Vintage Fields fall wedding was packed with personal details like that. The kind you only notice when you slow down and look. Their September celebration in Columbus, Wisconsin had the relaxed, joyful energy we love shooting. The rustic barn setting at Vintage Fields gave us the perfect backdrop for all of it.

The Details That Set the Tone

Before anything else, we spent time with the property itself. Vintage Fields has this incredible mix of textures. A red barn with a vine-covered silo. A bright white outbuilding. Weathered wood, stone foundations, and string lights strung across a patio full of farm tables. If you’re a couple considering this venue, just know that the grounds alone give us plenty to work with before the first guest arrives.

Stephanie’s lace gown hung against a wall of green ivy with pops of red. Honestly, that backdrop was a photographer’s dream. The getting-ready spaces had soft, natural light pouring through white shiplap walls. Meanwhile, Timothy and his guys were across the property with bourbon, Coke bottles, and leather suspenders. One of our favorite details? Timothy had a heart-shaped patch inside his jacket. It read “Forever My Babe, Stephanie.” Those hidden, personal moments always hit different through a lens.

A Barn Ceremony Full of Warmth

The ceremony happened inside the barn with eucalyptus garlands framing the windows. A laser-cut last name sign hung above. An unplugged ceremony sign greeted guests at the door, which we always appreciate. It meant every face in the crowd was actually present, looking at the couple instead of at a phone screen. That makes for better ceremony photos. It also made for a more connected room.

Stephanie and Timothy stood facing each other with soft window light falling across their shoulders. The officiant kept things warm and personal. During the ring exchange, we pulled in tight on their hands. The intimacy of that moment told the whole story. From there, the kiss got a full-room cheer, and we pulled wide to catch the crowd reaction. This is the kind of barn wedding photography we live for. Genuine, unplugged, and full of warmth.

Portraits on the Farm and Down the Road

After the ceremony, the wedding party spilled out onto the lawn. The bridesmaids wore dusty rose dresses. The groomsmen matched Timothy’s relaxed suspender look. Everyone was laughing, and that energy came through in every frame. Group photos at Vintage Fields practically style themselves. The red barn, white outbuildings, and silo give us so many layers to play with.

Then it was just Stephanie and Timothy. The two of them walked the property together, and we found ourselves drawn to the white barn. Soft overcast light wrapped around them perfectly there. Stephanie’s bouquet of roses, ranunculus, eucalyptus, and blue thistle kept showing up beautifully in close-ups. One of our favorite moments? Timothy spinning Stephanie on the stone patio in front of the red barn, her skirt catching the breeze. These two were completely relaxed, and honestly, that is when we do our best work.

Later, we walked them out to a country road flanked by cornfields. Stephanie lifted her skirt and they just ran. No direction from us. They looked at each other and took off laughing. That image of the two of them sprinting down an empty Wisconsin road is one we keep coming back to.

Rustic Reception Details and a Dance Floor That Stayed Full

Inside the barn, the reception space glowed. String lights hung from the exposed beam ceiling. The tables were set with eucalyptus in glass bottles, succulent accents, and hand-lettered wood table numbers. Everything felt intentional without being overdone. Chalkboard signs, a wooden “cards” box, a photo display on the barn wall, and even a MACC Fund donation sign tied to the kissing tradition all reflected who these two are as a couple.

Instead of a traditional cake table, they had an entire shelf of hand pies and cookies. A small naked cake topped with a laser-cut “Stephanie & Timothy” wreath sat alongside. An espresso bar from Crescendo kept the energy up as the night rolled on. The bar menu was handwritten on a chalkboard. Guests grabbed mason jar mugs with custom tags attached. Every detail photographed like it was styled for a magazine, but it all came straight from the couple’s vision.

The dance floor stayed packed from the first dance through the last song. That shift from polished ceremony to late-night party energy is something we live for. By the end of the night, we were shooting in black and white under the barn beams. Stephanie and Timothy were grinning at each other while the crowd moved around them. If you’re looking for a venue that can hold that kind of range, Vintage Fields delivers.
