Nick & Jodi’s Pink-Soaked Summer at The Fields Reserve
Pink roses, a gray suit, and a ballgown that caught the wind every time Jodi moved. That’s the combination that greeted us when we arrived as The Fields Reserve wedding photographer for Nick and Jodi’s summer celebration in Stoughton. From the first detail shot to the last dance under purple uplighting, these two brought a warmth that matched the season perfectly.
Fuchsia Details and a Groom Who Couldn’t Stop Smiling
Jodi’s details were a photographer’s dream. Crystal earrings, a beaded gown on a custom hanger, and a bouquet packed with hot pink roses and soft eucalyptus. Her color palette leaned hard into pinks and blush. Against the dark wood tones inside The Fields Reserve, every detail popped. Her bridesmaids showed up in matching floral robes, and the energy on that covered porch was pure excitement.
Meanwhile, Nick was getting suited up in light gray with a pink tie. His parents helped him into his jacket, and his mom pinned his boutonniere while he grinned ear to ear. That moment is one we always look for. It’s real and tender, and Nick wore every bit of that emotion on his face.
Warm Wood, Soft Light, and a Ceremony That Felt Like Home
Inside the ceremony hall, it’s all dark reclaimed wood, vaulted ceilings, and a chandelier catching every bit of available light. On a summer afternoon, windows along the roofline pour soft, diffused light straight down the aisle. We love that kind of natural glow. It keeps skin tones warm and faces beautifully lit without us fighting harsh shadows.
Jodi walked down the aisle with her dad, bouquet in hand. We could see Nick react from across the room. Wooden pews were lined with pink floral arrangements, and white drapes framed the altar. Everything felt intimate despite the full crowd. If you’re considering The Fields Reserve for your own wedding, know that this ceremony hall photographs beautifully from every angle.
Portraits in the Wildflowers
After the ceremony, we took Nick and Jodi out into the surrounding fields. Overcast sky that afternoon was actually ideal for portraits. No squinting, no harsh midday contrast. Just even, soft light and green everywhere. Jodi’s ballgown swept through the tall grass, and Nick kept pulling her close. These two didn’t need much direction. They were completely relaxed, and honestly, that is when we do our best work.
Their bridal party was just as fun. Bridesmaids in dusty rose with pink bouquets, groomsmen in matching gray suits, and a full group shot where everyone let loose. One groomsman kicked a leg up. Someone threw a fist in the air. Nick and Jodi kissed in the middle of it all. Those unscripted moments are always the ones that end up framed.
Rustic Reception with All the Personal Touches
Nick and Jodi went all in on their reception details. Wood slice place cards with hand-lettered names, a custom gobo projecting their monogram onto the dance floor, a crate sign listing the evening’s schedule next to a whiskey barrel. Rose gold sequin runners lined the head table. Round tables were dressed in white with pops of fuchsia. Every corner of that barn had something worth photographing.
Purple uplighting washed across the reclaimed wood walls for the first dance, and Nick and Jodi held each other close while the crowd watched. Their guests were fully locked in. Energy on the dance floor only grew from there. As The Fields Reserve wedding photographer for this celebration, we can say this venue gives you rustic charm and room to make it entirely your own. Nick and Jodi used every inch of it, and our cameras loved every minute.

What makes The Fields Reserve a great venue for wedding photos?
The Fields Reserve offers an incredible mix of indoor and outdoor settings. Inside, the reclaimed wood ceremony hall has warm tones and soft overhead light. Outside, surrounding fields and wildflower areas are perfect for romantic portraits. As a photographer, the variety means every gallery feels unique.
How do you approach a barn wedding in the Stoughton area?
Our approach is to let the venue do what it does best. Dark wood interiors create a moody, warm atmosphere, so we lean into that with natural light and minimal flash during the ceremony. For portraits, we take advantage of the lush grounds and open sky. Our goal is always images that feel true to the day and the couple.
We’re planning a wedding in the Madison area. How can we see more of your work?
Congratulations! We love working in the Madison area. For that reason, we encourage you to view our wedding photography portfolio. It showcases a wide range of celebrations, and we would be happy to share complete galleries that are relevant to your specific plans.
