Chelsea & Alec: White Florals and Warm Brick at The Lageret

White roses, eucalyptus, and lavender bridesmaid dresses against century-old brick. Chelsea and Alec’s spring wedding was one of those days where every detail felt intentional, and the whole thing came together with this effortless warmth that made our job easy. The Lageret floral photos from this celebration are some of our favorites, because the florals weren’t just pretty. They tied the entire mood of the day together.

Getting Ready Inside Those Lageret Walls

Chelsea’s bridesmaids showed up in matching plaid flannels, all of them circled around the dress like it was the main event. That energy in the room was contagious. Meanwhile, Alec and his guys were across the venue, cracking jokes and hyping each other up near the ceremony draping. Light inside The Lageret’s getting-ready space is something we always look forward to. Those tall windows and white-painted brick walls give us soft, clean light that just wraps around people.

One of our favorite quiet moments came when Chelsea put on her earrings. Her bridesmaid and her mom stood close, but Chelsea was in her own world for just a second. That’s the kind of frame we wait for. Then Alec, sitting alone on a bench with warm sidelight cutting across his suit, looked like he was letting the weight of the day settle in. Two completely different energies, and both were exactly right.

A Ceremony Full of Texture

Flora by Jamae built a floral arch that stopped us in our tracks. Lush greenery cascading over a simple frame, white blooms scattered through it, all of it set against The Lageret’s exposed brick and heavy timber beams. Soft drapery hung from the ceiling and caught the window light. If you’re considering this venue, know that the ceremony space does most of the work for you. Bring good florals and good light, and the brick handles the rest.

Chelsea came down the aisle beaming. Alec couldn’t stop smiling through the ring exchange. Their officiant kept things personal, and the room felt close and warm despite the high ceilings. We shot wide to take in the architecture, then pulled in tight for the vows and the kiss. That balance between grand setting and intimate emotion is exactly what makes The Lageret wedding photography so rewarding for us.

Train Cars, Sidewalks, and a Very Good Dog

After the ceremony, the whole wedding party headed to the old train cars just outside the venue. Rusted red steel, faded graffiti, tall grass growing up around the tracks. It’s industrial and a little rough, and it plays beautifully against lavender chiffon and white bouquets. That group photo where Chelsea and Alec are kissing while the entire party cheers around them? Pure chaos and pure joy in a single frame.

From there, we took Chelsea and Alec through the surrounding streets and alleys of Stoughton for couples portraits. Old brick buildings, narrow alleyways, overcast skies keeping the light even and moody. Then their goldendoodle made an appearance by The Lageret’s massive wooden doors, and honestly, that might be the photo that gets printed the biggest. A bride, her dog, and those iconic doors. It doesn’t get much better.

String Lights and a Neon Sendoff

The reception space at The Lageret looked like something out of a magazine. String lights draped across the timber ceiling, globe pendants glowing against the brick, eucalyptus runners down every table. A chalkboard seating chart and a dessert bar with tiered cake stands added personal touches that felt curated but not fussy. Flora by Jamae repositioned the ceremony arch as a backdrop, framing the head table perfectly.

Their first dance was the kind of moment we live for as photographers. Alec laughing, Chelsea pressing her forehead against his, guests watching from the edges of the dance floor. Warm overhead glow gave us rich, golden tones without any extra gear. Later, the couple stole away to a greenery wall with a custom neon sign reading “Make It Great.” That final portrait, bathed in neon, was the perfect ending to these Lageret floral photos and a day full of texture, warmth, and two people completely at ease with each other.

Frequently Asked Questions about The Lageret Weddings

What makes The Lageret a great venue for wedding photos?

The combination of exposed brick, heavy timber beams, and tall windows creates a setting that’s rich in texture and naturally photogenic. Warm tones of the brick pair beautifully with soft florals and drapery, and the industrial backdrops just outside the venue (like the old train cars) add variety to every gallery. As a Stoughton WI wedding photographer, it’s one of our favorite places to shoot.

Can we do outdoor portraits near The Lageret?

Absolutely. The area surrounding The Lageret in downtown Stoughton offers old brick alleyways, rusted train cars, and charming sidewalks that all work wonderfully for couples portraits and wedding party photos. Even on an overcast day, the variety of backdrops gives us plenty to work with.

We’re planning a wedding in the Madison area. How can we see more of your work?

Congratulations! We love working in the Madison area. For that reason, we encourage you to view our wedding photography portfolio. It showcases a wide range of celebrations, and we would be happy to share complete galleries that are relevant to your specific plans.
