Ben & Chelsey’s Summer Wedding at the Wisconsin Riverside Resort

There’s a moment in this gallery that stops us every time. Ben reaches for Chelsey’s face, the river is glowing behind them, and everything else just falls away. That single frame tells you everything about their Wisconsin Riverside Resort wedding: unhurried, deeply felt, and full of the kind of light photographers dream about. The day took us from a breathtaking Catholic church to the sandy banks of the Wisconsin River in Spring Green, and honestly, we didn’t want it to end.

Getting Ready and a Beautiful Church Ceremony

Chelsey got ready in one of the resort’s cabins, the kind with a stone fireplace and warm window light that makes our job almost too easy. Her mom was right there for the final details of the lace gown. Bridesmaids moved around in pink satin robes, and the whole room had this calm, happy buzz to it. Every detail felt personal: a custom hanger reading “Mrs. Linzmeier,” a lush bouquet of ranunculus, roses, and deep plum dahlias. We pulled in close for those quiet moments because that is where the real emotion lives.

Then everyone headed to St. Luke Catholic Church for the ceremony, and this church genuinely took our breath away. Ornate white marble, gold accents, painted ceilings, tall candles flanking the altar. Chelsey’s cathedral-length veil trailed the full length of the center aisle as she walked toward Ben. Light streamed through stained glass and bathed the whole space in this warm, amber glow. We shot wide to take in the architecture because a church like that deserves the full frame. Their first kiss at the altar made every person in those pews exhale at once, and we caught the exact second it happened.

Portraits Around Spring Green

After the ceremony, we stole some time with Ben and Chelsey in downtown Spring Green. If you haven’t wandered those streets, picture white clapboard storefronts, climbing vines, and colorful doors around every corner. All of that gave us a fantastic mix of textures and tones to work with. Chelsey’s bouquet popped against every backdrop. These two were completely relaxed, genuinely unable to stop grinning at each other, and honestly, that is when we do our best work.

Once we arrived at the resort, the river took over. Sandy shoreline, a thick tree line, open sky stretching out in every direction. Late afternoon light was soft and hazy, perfect for portraits that feel natural. By the time golden hour hit, the water turned to liquid amber. One of our favorite frames from the entire day is Chelsey standing alone on the riverbank, her lace train fanning across the sand, completely backlit by the setting sun. That kind of light lasts maybe five minutes. If you’re considering a wedding at the Wisconsin Riverside Resort, know this: the golden hour on that river is unlike anything else in southern Wisconsin.

Reception Details and Dancing

Inside, the reception space hit this warm, moody tone that we loved. Gold geometric centerpieces held roses and eucalyptus. String lights overhead cast a soft amber glow across everything. A custom barrel lid engraved with “Linzmeier Est. 2023” served as the guest book, and the seating chart was hand-lettered on a sleek black board. Over on the cake table, a hand-painted two-tier cake sat surrounded by cupcakes in blush and berry tones. Every detail felt intentional, and our favorite thing about couples like Ben and Chelsey is that they put real thought into the pieces that reflect who they are.

Their first dance was the kind of quiet, unhurried moment that makes a long day worth it. The rest of the room seemed to disappear. You could see it in the way they held each other, lace catching the spotlight, guests watching from the edge of the floor. We stayed tight on their hands and faces because that is where the story was. This Wisconsin Riverside Resort wedding brought together a meaningful ceremony, stunning natural scenery, and a reception full of heart. It’s the kind of gallery we come back to again and again. Frequently Asked Questions about Wisconsin Riverside Resort Weddings

What makes the Wisconsin Riverside Resort a great venue for wedding photos?

The resort sits right on the Wisconsin River. That means you get water views, sandy shoreline, and thick tree cover all in one place. The variety lets us create portraits with completely different moods throughout the day. Golden hour on the riverbank is especially stunning, with warm light reflecting off the water.

How do you handle a wedding with a separate church ceremony and resort reception?

Multi-location days are all about a solid timeline. We work with you well before the wedding to map out travel time, portrait windows, and buffer minutes. The goal is to move through the day naturally. Each location gets the attention it deserves, and nobody ends up watching the clock.

We’re planning a wedding in the Spring Green area. How can we see more of your work?
