A Candlelight New Year’s Eve Wedding: Taylor & Radley at Creamery 201
Some weddings end with a sparkler exit. This one ended with gold confetti raining down at midnight and an entire room losing their minds on the dance floor. Taylor and Radley got married on New Year’s Eve at Creamery 201 in Fort Atkinson, and from the first quiet moments of getting ready to the last song of the night, every hour brought something worth remembering. These Creamery 201 wedding photos are some of the most romantic, most electric frames we’ve delivered in a single gallery.
Getting Ready at Creamery 201
Taylor was glowing before the dress was even on. Her mom was right there for the final details, and the two of them kept bouncing between laughter and happy tears. That kind of energy is contagious, and we fed off it all morning. Meanwhile, Radley and his groomsmen kept things loose across the hall. Suspenders got adjusted, bow ties got straightened, and jokes flew nonstop. The getting-ready suites at Creamery 201 have this industrial-chic feel with tall dark wardrobes, clean lines, and beautiful natural light pouring through the windows. Honestly, the rooms do half the work for us.
The detail shots came together effortlessly. Taylor’s satin gown hung against dark wood, ivory roses sat beside calligraphy invitations, and a welcome sign read “Radley + Taylor, 12.31.2021.” Nothing felt thrown together. Every piece told you something about who these two are and what kind of night this was going to be.
Then came the first look, and it stopped us in our tracks. Radley was standing with his back turned when Taylor tapped his shoulder. The second he saw her, his whole face changed. They pulled each other in tight, laughing and holding on. We pulled in close for that moment because the wide shot doesn’t tell you what their eyes were doing. That embrace set the tone for the rest of the day: genuine, joyful, completely present.
Portraits in Downtown Fort Atkinson
Winter portraits in Wisconsin mean bare branches and overcast skies, and that soft, diffused light was honestly perfect for the mood of this day. The rustic wood siding at Creamery 201 gave us rich texture for tight compositions. Just down the block, a colorful mural became the unexpected backdrop for the wedding party shots. Bold color, big energy, huge grins. It was one of those happy accidents that makes a gallery feel alive.
Taylor threw a fur wrap over her gown, and the two of them leaned into each other beside snow-dusted shrubs. That contrast of warmth against cold is something we love about winter weddings. If you’re considering a cold-weather celebration at Creamery 201, trust us on this: the industrial textures inside and the small-town charm outside give you portrait variety that most venues just can’t match. The bridal party looked effortlessly polished, too. Bridesmaids in sleek black with white and green bouquets, groomsmen sharp in black suits, and everyone gathered under bistro lights back inside for a few final frames.
A Candlelit Ceremony to Remember
This ceremony was a photographer’s dream. Dozens of candles in gold holders lined the aisle, casting this warm amber glow across the industrial space. Draped white fabric and trailing greenery framed the altar. The Pecatonica String Quartet filled the room with something cinematic and full, and when Taylor stepped into that candlelit aisle, every voice in the room disappeared. We shot wide to take in the scope of the scene because no tight crop could do it justice. The scale of that moment needed to breathe.
Pastor Peace led a service that felt deeply personal. Family members gathered to light a unity candle. Radley and Taylor exchanged vows with the kind of steady eye contact that tells you they meant every single word. Their first kiss drew a roar from the crowd, and from there, the night shifted into full celebration mode.
Ringing in the New Year
The reception was everything a NYE wedding should be and then some. Black and gold details covered every surface: calligraphy seating charts, dark menus with gold flatware, and tall floral centerpieces rising above candlelit tables. A three-tiered cake with brushed gold and fresh white roses sat beside a Wisconsin cheese wheel “cake” that was pure Radley and Taylor. String lights overhead kept the room feeling intimate despite its size. We could have spent an hour just on the tablescapes.
Then midnight hit. Gold confetti rained down as Taylor and Radley kissed their way into the new year, and friends and family completely lost it on the dance floor. It was loud, chaotic, and absolutely perfect. That shift from polished ceremony to uninhibited late-night energy is something we live for. The rest of the night was all dancing, Mr. and Mrs. paddles, and the kind of unguarded joy you cannot fake. These Creamery 201 wedding photos from the reception are some of our favorites from the entire season. What are the best indoor photo locations at Creamery 201 for a winter wedding?
Creamery 201 has a fantastic industrial-chic aesthetic that works beautifully in winter. Large windows let in gorgeous natural light. Exposed brick and dark wood wardrobes add rich texture. Bistro string lights create a warm ambiance throughout the space. The getting-ready suites are also bright and well-designed, giving us a perfect backdrop for those early moments of the day.
How do you capture a midnight celebration at a New Year’s Eve wedding?
We coordinate closely with the couple, their DJ, and the venue team. That way, we’re positioned perfectly for the countdown. Using a mix of ambient light and flash techniques, we freeze the energy of the moment. Whether it’s a confetti drop, a champagne toast, or a midnight kiss, the goal is to capture that rush of emotion without losing the warmth of the room.
