Ryan & Melissa: Bold Color and Big Love at Chorus Public House

Every once in a while, a couple walks in and you just know the gallery is going to be something special. Ryan in an emerald green suit. Melissa in a pearl-covered denim jacket. A unity ceremony that involved actual gardening gloves and potting soil. Their Chorus Public House wedding photography had personality from the very first frame, and honestly, we never wanted it to slow down. Stoughton set the stage, and these two brought every ounce of the energy.

Getting Ready at Chorus Public House

The moment Ryan pulled on that emerald green suit with the floral tie, we looked at each other and grinned. This was going to be a fun one. His dad stepped in to help with his jacket, and the quiet pride on his face stopped us mid-conversation. That kind of moment doesn’t announce itself. You just have to be paying attention. Meanwhile, Melissa was across the way layering on a custom “Mrs. Perry” denim jacket absolutely loaded with pearls. Matching teal heels sat nearby. A ring box was tucked among wildflowers. Every detail had intention behind it, so we shot the flat lay first to tell that story before anyone walked down the aisle.

If you haven’t stepped inside Chorus Public House, picture warm wood floors, tall windows pouring natural light across the room, and a grand staircase that gives the whole interior real presence. For couples looking for a venue that feels both modern and inviting without competing with your own style, this place is absolutely worth a visit. The neutral palette let all of Ryan and Melissa’s bold choices pop. That contrast between clean architecture and fearless color is something we leaned into with every frame.

A Ceremony Full of Personality

Melissa came down the aisle on her father’s arm, grinning the entire way. Her dad was trying so hard to hold it together. We got both. The ceremony had this warm, almost living-room feel, with exposed beams overhead and hardwood underfoot pulling everything into this intimate pocket of light. We pulled in close for the vows because that is where the real moments live. One of our favorites from the whole day? Ryan and Melissa potting a plant together as their unity ceremony. Gloves on, soil everywhere, huge smiles. No script in the world could have given us something that genuine.

After the vows, downtown Stoughton became our portrait playground. Brick facades, painted walls, wide stretches of Main Street. No driving required, just walking and shooting. That green suit against sage-colored garage doors was a photographer’s dream. We shot wide to let the architecture frame them, then pulled in tight once the laughter started rolling. The light softened as evening crept in. These two were completely relaxed, leaning into each other without a hint of hesitation. Honestly, that is when we do our best work.

The Reception and Late-Night Fun

Back inside, the reception space was packed with personal touches. A signature drink sign. An Instax camera station for guests. A custom sign-in board reading “Melissa + Ryan, Better Together, Est. 6.25.23.” Green-frosted cupcakes echoed the color palette without overdoing it. Nothing felt forced. Everything felt like them. Our job was simply to document it all before the dancing took over, so we moved through the room quietly, letting the details speak for themselves.

First dances brought real emotion. Ryan and Melissa held each other close under pendant lights, foreheads together, completely in their own world. Melissa’s father-daughter dance had the whole room laughing and clapping. Later, the couple changed into casual clothes for cake cutting, kissing between bites under purple and blue DJ lights. That shift from polished ceremony to late-night party energy is something we live for, and this Chorus Public House wedding photography captures every bit of it. From the emerald suit to the last flash of colored light, this day was unapologetically Ryan and Melissa. It never tried to be anything else, and that’s exactly why it works.
