Hailey & Colin’s September Lageret Wedding in Stoughton

We have a thing for The Lageret. Every time we walk through those doors, the light and texture hit differently. Hailey and Colin’s September Lageret wedding leaned hard into that industrial backdrop with deep emerald greens, navy, and moody burgundy florals that felt like they grew right out of the brick walls. As Stoughton WI wedding photographers, we can tell you this: when a couple’s style locks in with their venue, everything just clicks.

Getting Ready at The Lageret

Before anyone walked down the aisle, the details told us exactly what kind of day this was going to be. Hailey’s invitation suite was layered on weathered wood alongside emerald ribbon, velvet heels, and a sapphire ring tucked among succulents. Dark bridesmaid dresses hung in a row against white brick. Colin’s navy suit waited on a reclaimed wood backdrop. Nothing felt accidental. Every piece was moody, textured, and personal. We pulled in close on all of it because those little details disappear once the day picks up speed.

Upstairs, soft window light caught Hailey’s profile as her lace-back gown was buttoned up. She slipped on earrings with a quiet smile. Honestly, those calm, unhurried minutes are some of our favorite frames to make. The anticipation is right there on the surface. All we have to do is stay close and let it happen.

A First Look by the Green Doors

Hailey and Colin chose to see each other before the ceremony, and we are so glad they did. The Lageret’s courtyard has these incredible tall green doors framed by white brick and wild ferns. Colin turned around, and the look on his face said everything. They held each other, laughed, and then just stood side by side. Those two were completely relaxed, and that is when we do our best work.

From there, we explored the grounds for portraits. The mix of textures around this property is a photographer’s dream: corrugated metal, painted brick, overgrown wildflowers, old stone foundations. Every turn offered something new. Hailey and Colin moved through each spot with easy, natural chemistry.

Ceremony Under Exposed Beams and Brick

The second-floor ceremony space at The Lageret never gets old. Tall brick walls rise to heavy timber trusses. An octagonal window sits high above like a quiet focal point. A geometric wooden arch draped in climbing greenery and burgundy blooms anchored the altar. Bridesmaids in black stood on one side, groomsmen in dark navy on the other. The whole scene felt warm despite the industrial scale of the room. If you’re considering The Lageret for your own wedding, picture natural light pouring through arched windows while your guests sit in that warm glow of brick and timber. It’s hard to beat.

Hailey and Colin exchanged vows in front of family and friends seated in dark wood chairs lined with trailing greenery. Light softened everything. We shot wide to take in the architecture, then pulled in tight. The ceremony was one of those moments where the room goes completely still and every word carries. You could feel it.

Portraits Around the Property

After the ceremony, we pulled Hailey and Colin outside for a few more portraits while guests settled into cocktail hour. The overcast September sky gave us beautifully even light, ideal for fall wedding photography in Wisconsin. Hailey’s bouquet practically glowed against the muted landscape. Fuchsia roses, deep red peonies, purple anemones, blue thistle, and trailing eucalyptus. That kind of color against an overcast sky is something we chase every fall.

One spot that stopped us was a red arched doorway set into a white brick building. Hailey stepped up onto the ledge, Colin leaned in close, and that contrast of bold red, soft white, and their navy-and-ivory palette gave us a frame we keep coming back to. Then we walked along the railroad tracks where late-season wildflowers grew waist-high. That raw, overgrown backdrop is what makes The Lageret wedding photos so distinctive. No two corners of this property look the same.

Reception Details and Dancing

Inside, the reception space was layered with string lights, sheer draping, and long farmhouse tables. Gold charger plates sat on dark wood, paired with blue napkins and garlands of greenery dotted with pink and magenta blooms. A hand-lettered chalkboard welcomed guests. The bar menu featured a bourbon old fashioned and a fall cider mule. Every detail felt curated but relaxed, and we loved how it all came together under that warm overhead glow.

Once dinner wrapped, the dance floor opened up and never slowed down. There’s a black-and-white frame from late in the evening where Hailey and Colin are dancing close, grinning at each other with the crowd pressed in around them. That image sums up the whole night. Pure joy, surrounded by the people they love. That shift from a polished ceremony to late-night party energy is something we live for. This September Lageret wedding delivered it start to finish. Days like this one stay with us long after the gallery is delivered.

Frequently Asked Questions about The Lageret Weddings

What makes The Lageret a great venue for a September wedding?

The Lageret combines exposed brick, heavy timber beams, and large windows that flood the space with natural light. In September, the weather is typically mild enough for outdoor portraits in the courtyard. The warm interior tones pair perfectly with early fall color palettes, and the industrial character gives every photo rich texture and depth.

How do you approach photography at an industrial venue like The Lageret?

We lean into the venue’s natural character. The mix of brick, metal, reclaimed wood, and overgrown greenery gives us a huge range of backdrops within a short walk. We balance the grand scale of the space with close, intimate moments so the gallery feels both dramatic and personal.
