A Perfect Little Welcome: Boho Studio Newborn Session

Cream knits, dried florals, wicker baskets, and one impossibly calm baby. This boho studio newborn session at our Garver Feed Mill space had the kind of palette that makes us want to photograph every detail twice.

Soft Light, Warm Studio, Sleepy Baby

We build every newborn setup from scratch. Colors, textures, and props are chosen for each family. This one leaned all the way into earthy neutrals and organic layers. Lace bonnets, chunky knit wraps, dried floral accents. Everything was dialed in before this little girl arrived, and once she did, she slept through nearly the entire session. That is the dream.

One of the biggest advantages of shooting newborns in our studio is the control. We set the temperature warm enough to keep baby comfortable. We shape the light exactly where we want it. And we move through setups at whatever pace the session needs. No wind, no weather, no guessing. Just quiet, steady work with a tiny human who sets the schedule. That controlled environment is where we do our best work.

Then there are the family frames. The last setup brought mom and dad into the scene by our big studio window. Their baby was wide awake for it. Eyes open, looking right up at them. We pulled in close because that connection is the whole point. Those are the images that stop parents in their tracks months later.

Frequently Asked Questions about Newborn Sessions at Garver Feed Mill

When should I book a newborn session at your Garver Feed Mill studio?

We recommend booking during your second or third trimester so we can reserve your spot. Most newborn sessions happen within the first two weeks after birth, when babies are sleepiest and easiest to pose. We’ll confirm the exact date once your little one arrives.

What should we bring to a studio newborn session?

Not much. We provide all the wraps, props, and styling for the session. Just bring a fed, sleepy baby and yourselves. If you have a special blanket or heirloom you’d like included, we’re always happy to work it in. Reach out if you have questions before your session.
