Most people picture newborn photography as something that happens indoors: a studio, a beanbag, a series of carefully arranged wraps and props. And there is absolutely a place for that. But some families are drawn to something a little more alive, a little more open, and a little more them. That’s where outdoor lifestyle newborn sessions come in.

We are lucky to be based at Garver Feed Mill on Madison’s east side, surrounded by green space, mature trees, and the kind of natural light that makes every frame feel effortless. It’s become one of our favorite spots for this exact kind of session: unhurried, natural, and rooted in the real texture of a family’s life together.

Meeting Estella

Estella arrived at just over seven weeks old, with her whole family in tow. Sister, mom, dad, and one very new little person who had no idea how much she was already loved. In this session there was movement, laughter, the occasional moment of chaos, and in between all of it, we love the quiet frames that stop time completely.

We let the family lead. We follow the light, find the moments, and stay out of the way as much as possible. The best images from sessions like this one are never planned.
