All the Tiny Things: A Madison Newborn Photographer Studio Session

Wide awake, wearing a dried floral crown, and completely unbothered by the camera. That’s how this little one showed up to her Madison newborn photographer studio session at Garver Feed Mill, and we knew immediately we were in for something good.

Soft Light, Simple Setup, All the Details

Our studio inside Garver Feed Mill gives us something you can’t get on location: total control. We set the temperature so baby stays comfortable. We shape the light exactly how we want it. And we keep the space quiet enough that most newborns drift off mid-session. This one, though? She had other plans. Those open eyes gave us a completely different kind of gallery, and honestly, we loved every frame.

The setup was cream tones, rattan textures, and soft wraps. Simple choices that let the baby be the whole story. We moved through a few different setups during the session, from basket poses to a wooden crib framed with dried florals. That variety is one of the reasons we love newborn photography in Madison at our own studio. Everything is already here, already dialed in, so we can focus entirely on the baby.

If you’re considering a newborn session, there’s one thing we always tell families: don’t stress about timing it perfectly. Babies set the pace. We build in plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and just being together. Some of our favorite images from any session are the quiet ones where a parent is holding their baby and the rest of the world disappears. Those moments don’t need direction. They just need space. Take a look at our newborn and maternity portfolio to see more of what these sessions look like.
