Classic Elegance: An October Celebration at The Eloise
There’s a reason October is our favorite month to shoot. The light goes golden an hour earlier, the air has weight to it, and everything just looks warmer. Taylor and Chase leaned into all of that for their wedding day, and these Eloise wedding photos are the result. Nothing overdone, nothing forced. Just a couple who made smart choices, stayed present, and gave us the kind of day that practically photographs itself.
Getting Ready at The Eloise
The bridal suite at The Eloise is one of those rooms that does half the work for you. White walls, a crystal chandelier overhead, and natural light pouring in from every angle. Taylor’s lace gown hung between those deep red bridesmaid dresses, and the contrast stopped us in our tracks. Rich autumn tones against clean modern lines. That’s the kind of detail spread we want to walk into every Saturday morning.
Over on the guys’ side, things were predictably low-key. Brown leather shoes, a pocket watch, just enough cologne. Classic stuff. But the moment that really landed for us was Taylor’s mom buttoning her into her dress. The room went quiet. Everyone else kept moving, but those two were somewhere else entirely. Then Taylor put on her earrings, took a breath, and you could feel the shift. She was locked in.
An Outdoor Ceremony Under Blue Skies
If you’re considering The Eloise for your wedding, picture this: a curved aisle lined with white chairs, autumn trees glowing behind you, and a sky so blue it almost looks retouched. That’s what Taylor and Chase walked into, and we shot wide to take in as much of it as possible. A backdrop like that deserves the full frame.
Chase was solid up front with his groomsmen until the moment he saw Taylor coming down the aisle. That reaction hit him hard, and honestly, it never gets old for us. No matter how many ceremonies we photograph, the first look down the aisle still lands every single time. The sun was softening by then, casting long shadows across the grass as they exchanged vows. Their first kiss drew a genuine roar from the crowd, and from there the whole energy shifted into celebration mode.
Golden Hour Portraits in the Fields
This is the part of the day we kept thinking about during the ceremony. The soybean field behind The Eloise had turned bronze, the tree line was backlit, and the sun hung low enough to wrap everything in deep amber. This is the kind of fall wedding photography Wisconsin is made for, and we were not about to waste a single minute of it.
Taylor’s cathedral veil caught the light like it was its own source. Chase carried her bouquet so she could lift her dress through the tall grass, and the two of them laughed the entire walk. At one point he scooped her up for a piggyback ride, completely unplanned. We pulled in tight for that one because the expressions were everything. That unscripted joy is what separates a portrait session from a photo shoot. These were some of our favorite Eloise wedding photos from the whole day, and it wasn’t even close.
Reception Details and a Packed Dance Floor
Back inside, The Eloise’s vaulted main hall looked incredible. Gold chiavari chairs around round tables, globe terrariums on wood slabs, and a long head table running beneath the tall windows with greenery trailing the length of it. The welcome sign read “Chase & Taylor, 10.1.2022,” and every detail felt curated but never fussy. That balance is harder to pull off than people think, and their team nailed it.
The dessert spread deserves its own moment here. A white cake on a rustic wood slab sat surrounded by tiers of cupcakes, and outside, a full s’mores bar offered four different flavor combinations by the fire. That kind of thoughtful, generous touch tells you everything about who a couple is. Our favorite details to photograph are always the ones guests actually interact with.
Once the music started, the dance floor stayed full all night. Iron chandeliers and string lights gave the room a warm amber glow that we absolutely loved shooting under. Taylor and Chase danced in the middle of their people, grinning the whole time. That shift from a polished ceremony to a packed, sweaty dance floor is something we live for. It meant the day was real, start to finish.

What makes The Eloise a great venue for fall wedding photos?
The Eloise sits on open land outside Mount Horeb, so you get both a bright, modern interior and wide-open fields for portraits. In autumn, the surrounding soybean fields and tree lines turn bronze and gold. That gives your outdoor photos warm, saturated tones. The venue’s white walls and large windows also let in beautiful soft light for ceremony and reception images.
Can we do both indoor and outdoor photos at The Eloise?
Absolutely. The bridal suite and main hall offer clean, well-lit spaces for getting-ready details and candid moments. Outside, paths, meadows, and open farmland create a variety of backdrops within a short walk. Most couples take advantage of both, especially during golden hour.
We’re planning a wedding in the Madison area. How can we see more of your work?
Congratulations! We love working in the Madison area. For that reason, we encourage you to view our wedding photography portfolio. It showcases a wide range of celebrations, and we would be happy to share complete galleries that are relevant to your specific plans.
