Hello, Little One: Spring Florals Newborn Session
Tiny fingers, a dried flower crown, and the quietest little stretches. This spring florals newborn session at our Garver Feed Mill studio was the kind of morning that reminds us why we love this work.
Florals, Soft Light, and a Baby Who Stole the Show
We designed the setup around dried florals, bunny tail grass, and warm neutral tones. Nothing loud, nothing busy. Just enough texture and color to frame this little girl without competing with her. The rattan baskets and cream wraps gave us a soft, organic palette, and we leaned into that with every angle.
She drifted in and out of sleep the entire session. That’s exactly what we hope for. Sleepy babies give us room to move slowly, adjust the light, and nail the close-up detail work. Those curled toes. Those impossibly small fingers. We pulled in tight because that’s where the magic lives.
One of our favorite moments came when we brought her parents into the frame. The way they looked down at her, completely absorbed, is something a camera can catch but never manufacture. We shot it simply. The emotion was already there. No direction needed.
Our studio inside Garver Feed Mill gives us full control over lighting and temperature. That matters more than people realize for newborn photography. Babies stay warm. The light stays consistent. And the session runs on the baby’s schedule, not ours.
By the end of the morning she was wide awake, staring straight at us with those big eyes. That caught us off guard in the best way. Most of our newborn galleries lean toward peaceful, sleeping portraits. This one has both. The contrast made the final collection feel complete.
What makes the Garver Feed Mill studio a good choice for newborn photos?
Our studio gives us full control over lighting and temperature, which keeps babies comfortable and lets us work without time pressure. The space is stocked with wraps, props, and backdrops so families can show up without worrying about a thing.
When should I book a newborn session with Twig & Olive?
We recommend reaching out during your second or third trimester so we can pencil in a window around your due date. Newborns photograph best in the first two weeks, and early booking helps us stay flexible when baby decides to arrive. Get in touch here to start planning.
