Krysta & Jacob’s Spring Wedding at Fête in Wales
Some days just feel right from the jump. Krysta and Jacob’s spring wedding at Fête in Wales was one of those. Overcast April skies, a soft breeze rolling across open fields, and two people so locked into each other that we barely had to direct a thing. The cloud cover gave us gorgeous, even light all day long. Skin glowed, colors went rich, and harsh shadows never stood a chance. From the first laugh during getting ready to the last spin under the chandeliers, this one had a rhythm we could feel behind the camera.
Getting Ready with the People Who Matter Most
Krysta’s morning was loud in the best way. Her bridesmaids were all hands on deck, helping her into a stunning floral lace gown while trading jokes and wiping happy tears. A custom wooden hanger engraved with her name and the date hung among greenery and pampas grass. It set the tone for how thoughtful the details would be all day. Over on Jacob’s side, the groomsmen kept things light. His son in the matching blue sunglasses absolutely stole the show. We pulled in close for those moments because that’s where the real story lives.
Their first look happened just outside the venue’s white barn walls, framed by tall arborvitae. Krysta walked up behind Jacob and tapped his shoulder. The grin on his face when he turned around? You can’t stage that. It’s the kind of honest, unscripted reaction that reminds us why first looks are so worth it. These two were completely relaxed. Honestly, that is when we do our best work.
A Ceremony Full of Light and Warmth
Fête’s ceremony space is a photographer’s gift. Those floor-to-ceiling windows pour natural light across the room. On an overcast day like this one, the quality was soft, even, and impossibly flattering. The wooden triangle arch at the altar brought a modern, geometric edge. It paired beautifully with soft pink and white florals. Krysta and Jacob exchanged rings with their son standing right beside them. That small detail made the whole ceremony feel deeply personal.
Two little ring bearers in suspenders and bow ties kept the front row entertained. After the vows, Krysta and Jacob came back up the aisle grinning. You could feel the relief and joy radiating off both of them. That shift from nervous energy to pure celebration is something we live for. It changes the air in the room. It changes every frame we shoot from that point forward.
Portraits in the Wisconsin Countryside
After the ceremony, we headed out into the fields surrounding Fête. The landscape did the heavy lifting. We shot wide to take in the open sky, the bare spring trees, and that distant pond adding texture to the background. The overcast light stayed consistent and gorgeous. Krysta’s bouquet of peonies, anemones, and blue thistle popped against the muted greens and browns of early spring.
One of our favorite moments came when Jacob pulled Krysta close near the arborvitae and kissed her forehead. No prompting. No posing. Just them. Those quiet, in-between seconds are what make this work so rewarding. If you’re considering Fête for your own day, know that the countryside around Wales gives you room to breathe. That space always translates into images with real feeling.
Reception Details and Dancing Under Chandeliers
Back inside, the reception space was layered with personal touches. A hand-lettered welcome sign sat next to family photos. Pink bunny tail grass in clear bottles made for centerpieces that were simple but striking. The dinner menu listed French Tournedo and assorted Bundtinis for dessert. Every detail felt intentional without trying too hard. That balance is something most couples aim for but few nail this well.
The dancing kicked off under crystal chandeliers throwing warm light across polished concrete floors. Krysta and Jacob’s first dance had the kind of laughter that makes everyone lean in. From there, the energy just built. Their spring wedding at Fête in Wales was exactly what a celebration should feel like: relaxed, joyful, and completely “them.” This is the kind of gallery that reminds us why we love what we do. The surrounding Wisconsin countryside offers wide open fields and evergreen backdrops for portraits. Every corner gives you something different to work with.
What should couples consider for a spring wedding in Wisconsin?
Spring weather in Wisconsin can change quickly. Choosing a venue with strong indoor and outdoor options is key. Fête handles this beautifully with its bright interior spaces and surrounding grounds. Lean into the season with soft florals and layered textures. Overcast skies actually create some of the most flattering portraits.
