Amanda & Chad: A Beachfront Celebration at Sandos Finisterra

We have a thing for golden hour, but golden hour in Cabo is something else entirely. It pours over the rocks, turns the sand warm pink, and wraps around everything like the whole coast is lit from within. Amanda and Chad got married right in the middle of that light. Honestly, we knew before the ceremony was over that this Sandos Finisterra Cabo wedding was going to be one we carried with us. The whole day had this ease to it. Laughter in a stone-walled suite, barefoot walks on the beach after sunset, a couple so locked in on each other that every frame felt effortless. That is exactly how a Cabo San Lucas destination wedding should feel.

Getting Ready at the Resort

Amanda’s suite had these gorgeous stone walls and just enough tropical light filtering in to make us want to photograph everything. Her bridesmaids were already in pink floral robes, already laughing, already radiating that buzzy pre-ceremony energy. Outside, her lace gown hung against a vine-covered wall catching dappled sunlight. The details scattered around the room told the story before the day even started: a blush and white bouquet with eucalyptus, a watercolor invitation nestled among bamboo stalks, white heels beside a bright red hibiscus.

The moment that stopped us was Amanda and her mom. As the dress went on, her mom pulled her close. That embrace held everything: pride, tenderness, the weight of the moment. We pulled in tight for that one because words would have gotten in the way. Meanwhile, Chad’s side of the resort had its own visual story going. A navy suit hanging against ornate metalwork. Blue suede shoes. A classic leather belt. Natural textures were everywhere at this resort, built right into the architecture. Backdrops we didn’t have to search for. They just appeared around every corner.

Wedding Party and Beachfront Ceremony

Once everyone was dressed, the full wedding party gathered on a terrace with warm adobe walls behind them. Bridesmaids in dusty blue holding white and blush bouquets. Groomsmen in navy keeping things clean. Right in the center stood Amanda and Chad, foreheads nearly touching, completely wrapped up in each other while their people cheered. Loose, happy, zero stiffness. That is the kind of group energy that makes our job easy. We shot wide to let the whole scene breathe.

Their ceremony happened right on the sand with the Pacific stretching out behind a draped white arbor. Black and white felt right for these moments. Amanda’s father hugged her before the walk. Vows were exchanged with waves rolling in behind them. A first kiss under that arbor with nothing but ocean and sky in the frame. Then came the eruption: bouquet raised high, both of them grinning like they’d just pulled off the best idea they ever had. Because they absolutely did. If you’re considering a beachfront ceremony in Cabo, picture this: the sound of waves, warm sand under your feet, and a crowd that flew across borders just to watch you say yes.

Golden Hour Portraits in Cabo

After the ceremony, we pulled Amanda and Chad away from cocktail hour for portraits. That’s always the trade-off with destination weddings. It is always, always worth it. Cabo’s golden hour light wraps around everything. It catches the hillside, lights up the ocean, and turns two people in love into something cinematic. As photographers, this is the window we live for.

One spot had them standing at a rooftop infinity edge with the Cabo skyline and sea stretching behind them. Another took us up a rocky desert trail where scrubby trees and boulders framed them against the mountains. Sunlight was dropping fast, backlighting Amanda’s hair and flooding through the lens. Those warm, natural flare moments are why we love photographing beachfront weddings in Mexico. Put two people in the right spot and let the environment do the rest.

From there, we explored winding stone staircases and lush garden terraces. Sandos Finisterra is built right into the hillside, so every turn revealed something new: ivy-covered stone walls, iron railings, cacti, flowering vines. All of that variety within a single property gave this Sandos Finisterra Cabo wedding an adventurous feel. The incredible part? We never even left the grounds. That kind of range in one location is a photographer’s dream.

Reception Details and Dancing Under the Stars

Inside the reception space, natural stone walls and warm ambient lighting set a mood that felt both intimate and celebratory. Amanda and Chad had set up a photo guestbook station with an Instax camera. Nearby, framed photos honored loved ones who couldn’t be there. Two dogs in tiny tuxedos featured prominently in the display. That detail alone tells you everything about this couple’s personality. It’s exactly the kind of thing we love finding when we scan a room.

As night settled in, string lights stretched across the outdoor dance floor. Their first dance was quiet and close. Just the two of them swaying under those lights with the Cabo sky above. We stayed back, shot long, and let the moment be theirs. It was the kind of ending that matched the beginning: warm, easy, full of love. These two were completely themselves from start to finish. Honestly, that is when we do our best work. To see more celebrations like this one, visit our wedding photography portfolio.
