A Mama’s Favorite: McCarthy Park Fall Maternity
Some frames just stop you. This McCarthy Park fall maternity session gave us exactly one of those. Two kids wrapped tight around their mama’s belly, dad cracking up behind them, and the last golden light of autumn pouring through the prairie grass. She told us afterward it was her absolute favorite image. Honestly, it’s one of ours too.
When One Frame Says It All
We’ve photographed at McCarthy Youth & Conservation County Park enough to know what autumn does to this place. The trails open into wide stretches of golden prairie. When the sun drops low, everything turns warm and soft. We timed this session for that last hour of light, and it delivered.
The location was beautiful, but these kids made the frame. They were all in, hands on the belly, leaning into her, laughing at nothing and everything. We pulled in close and let it unfold. No posing. No redirecting. That kind of natural, full-body connection is not something we can manufacture. Our job was to stay quiet and keep the shutter going.
