It was pouring when we arrived, and honestly, we couldn’t have been happier about it. These two never once looked at the sky with worry. They looked at each other, laughed, and gave us one of the most cinematic days we’ve ever shot. The bride gathered her skirt, the groom took her hand, and they followed us to a rocky riverside spot just outside Wisconsin Dells without a second thought. Moon-shaped details dotted the guest book station. Each table had its own quiet sparkle. Our detail shots practically composed themselves.

The first dance is where we slowed down. Star-shaped pendants hung from the ceiling, the room went dim, and the couple held each other like nobody else existed. We love shooting receptions in low light for exactly this reason. It strips the scene down to what actually matters: two people, the music, and whatever is passing between them.
