Hello, Little One: A Newborn Baby Photo Session

Two sisters meeting for the first time. A toddler leaning in to kiss a tiny forehead. That’s the moment that set the tone for this entire newborn baby photo session at our Garver Feed Mill studio. Honestly, we never got tired of watching it happen.

Soft Light, Simple Setups, Real Connection

We kept everything clean and intentional for this one. Cream tones, natural textures, a dried flower crown so delicate it barely weighed a thing. The baby slept through almost all of it. That gave us room to work slowly and let each setup breathe. We prioritize that patience in every newborn session because rushing never produces the images families actually want on their walls.

But what really made this session was big sister. She showed up in a lace dress, climbed right onto the studio bed, and just beamed. No coaching needed. We pulled in close for those sibling frames because that kind of unscripted joy is impossible to recreate later.

One of the things we love about shooting newborns at Garver Feed Mill is the control. Lighting, temperature, sound. It’s all dialed in before a family walks through the door. That means the baby sets the pace, not us. If she needs to eat, we pause. If she needs to be held, we wait. The images always turn out better when everyone is relaxed. Our studio is built for exactly that.

Every setup here was built from scratch for this family. The peacock chair, the woven baskets, the greenery tucked into each corner. Colors and textures chosen to match their style. That’s what separates a newborn baby photo session from a quick snapshot. It’s something we take seriously. Frequently Asked Questions about Newborn Sessions at Garver Feed Mill

What makes the Garver Feed Mill studio a good place for a newborn session?

Our studio inside Garver Feed Mill gives us full control over lighting, temperature, and setup. That means we keep everything warm, quiet, and comfortable for your baby. We also have a full collection of wraps, baskets, and props on hand so families don’t need to bring a thing.

When should I book a newborn session with Twig & Olive?

We recommend booking during your third trimester so we can reserve a window in the first two weeks after birth. Newborns are sleepiest and most flexible during those early days, which gives us the best results. Reach out any time and we’ll get you on the calendar.
