Sweet Dreams at the Garver: A September Studio Newborn Session
Tiny knit bonnets, warm blankets, and a baby who slept through the whole thing. This September studio newborn session at our Garver Feed Mill space was exactly the kind of calm, quiet morning we love most.
Soft Light, Simple Setups
We kept everything intentionally minimal for this one. Cream tones, natural textures, wicker and wood. The studio gives us full control over lighting and temperature, which means the baby sets the pace and we follow. No rushing, no forcing a moment. Just patience and warm light doing what it does best.
There’s a reason we gravitate toward simple wraps and neutral palettes in our newborn studio sessions. When the setup is clean, your eye goes straight to the baby. The tiny fingers, the soft expression, the way they curl into whatever you give them. That’s the whole story right there.
We always tell parents to come into the frame whenever they’re ready. Some of our favorite images from any newborn session are the ones where someone is just holding their baby close, completely present. Those aren’t posed. They’re real. And they only get more meaningful with time.
If you’re expecting or just brought a baby home and thinking about newborn photography in Madison, this is exactly what it looks like with us. Calm, warm, and built entirely around your little one’s schedule. We handle every detail so you can just be present.
What makes the Garver Feed Mill studio a good space for newborn photography?
Our studio inside Garver Feed Mill gives us complete control over lighting, temperature, and setup. That means we can keep the room warm, the light soft, and the environment calm so your baby stays comfortable and sleepy throughout the session.
When should I book a newborn session with Twig & Olive?
We recommend booking during your third trimester so we can hold a window for you. Newborn sessions are best within the first two weeks, and having a spot reserved means we can schedule around your baby’s actual arrival. Reach out any time and we’ll get you on the calendar.
