The Good Stuff: A Family of Six Session

Four kids, two parents, and one of those golden Texas evenings where the light just keeps getting better. This family of six session at Cedar Hill State Park was loud, fast, and full of the kind of energy that makes our job feel less like work and more like play.

When the Chaos Is the Good Part

Bigger families bring bigger energy, and honestly, that’s where we thrive. We don’t try to calm it down. We follow it. A sibling tackle, a piggyback ride, someone making a face that cracks everybody up. Those moments come fast with four kids in the mix, and our job is to be ready when they do.

Cedar Hill State Park gave us everything we needed. Open terrain, warm fall light, and enough space for four kids to sprint without anyone worrying about boundaries. The backdrop shifted from tall grass to stone ledges to wide open sky as we moved through the property. We shot wide in those open stretches and pulled in tight for the quiet moments between the sprints.

People with larger groups sometimes worry their photos will feel chaotic. We promise you, the chaos is the good part. It’s what makes your people yours. After twenty-plus years behind the camera, the wildest sessions consistently produce the most genuine galleries. Show up, be yourselves, and let us handle the rest. You can see more of our work on our family photography portfolio page.

The park’s mix of open fields and rustic structures gives us variety without ever having to rush from one location to the next. That golden hour light rolling across the Texas prairie? A photographer’s dream.
