Every Outfit, a Different Story
We started with the whole family together, and that first look between mom, dad, and their girl set the tone for everything that followed. Relaxed. Warm. Real. The kind of energy that makes our job easy. From there, we moved into solo portraits, and that’s when this little one really took over.
The floral dress with the headband? She gave us this perfect little pout that we couldn’t have directed if we tried. Then the purple romper in the peacock chair surrounded by greenery turned the whole session into something tropical and playful. Our studio at Garver lets us build these completely different scenes without ever leaving the room, and for milestone sessions, that flexibility is everything.
We pulled in close for so many of these frames because the expressions were just too good to shoot wide. The crochet blanket, the wood crate, the exposed brick behind her. Every detail in our studio is intentional, and when a baby is this comfortable in the space, we get to focus entirely on the moments instead of managing the setup. What is the best age for an in studio milestone session?
We love milestone sessions around six to twelve months, when babies are sitting up on their own and full of personality. That said, every age brings something different. Reach out and we’ll help you figure out the best timing for your little one.
Can I bring multiple outfits to a milestone session at Garver Feed Mill?
Absolutely. Our studio is set up for quick outfit and backdrop changes, so we can create several distinct looks in a single session. Most families bring two to four outfits, and we build different scenes around each one.
