Madison Senior Photo Session: Golden Hour at Token Creek
Three outfit changes, wildflowers up to her shoulders, and light that kept getting better with every frame. This Madison senior photo session at Token Creek County Park was one of those evenings where everything just clicked. The kind of session we walk away from already excited to edit.
Wildflowers and Golden Light at Token Creek
Token Creek sits just outside Madison in DeForest, and it’s one of those parks that punches way above its weight for portraits. Open meadows full of goldenrod and wildflowers, wooden boardwalks cutting through the grass, tree-lined edges for shade when you need it. All within a few minutes’ walk. We shot wide in the fields to let the landscape breathe, then pulled in tight for the quieter, more personal frames.
What made this session stand out was the energy she brought to it. Completely herself, no stiffness, no overthinking. She moved through each look like she’d done this a hundred times. That kind of ease translates directly into the images, and honestly, it’s when we do our best work. The black and white set in the wildflowers was our favorite of the night. Simple, confident, striking.
If you’re a senior (or a parent researching spots), Token Creek is worth putting on your list. The variety of backdrops means we never feel like we’re repeating ourselves, and the golden hour light here is something we look forward to every single time. It’s the kind of Token Creek senior photos that remind us why outdoor sessions in this area are so hard to beat. Check out our senior photography page to see more of what we do.
When is the best time of year for senior photos at Token Creek?
Late summer through early fall is our favorite window. The wildflowers are at their peak, the fields are lush, and the golden hour light lasts longer than you’d expect. We typically recommend booking your session about 90 minutes before sunset for the best results.
How do I book a senior portrait session with Twig & Olive?
