Every once in a while, a couple walks into our studio and we can tell right away they’re not here for stiff, traditional poses. This Garver playful couples portrait is the result of two people who came in polished, loosened up fast, and ended up giving us one of the most genuinely fun frames we’ve ever delivered.
When the Real Stuff Shows Up
“I loved so many of our photos but the one attached made me feel seen as a Mom.” That’s a quote from a different client, but the feeling is the same here. This couple told us their favorite image was the one that “captures who we are as individuals and explains our relationship with each other perfectly.” Pokemon onesies on a dirt trail, mid-piggyback ride, laughing so hard they could barely hold it together. That’s not a pose. That’s a relationship.
We always start couples sessions with something comfortable, something familiar. But the magic happens when people stop thinking about the camera entirely. The shift from composed to completely themselves is something we live for, and when it clicks, we know it immediately. This session clicked about ten minutes in and never looked back.
Our studio inside Garver Feed Mill gives us a range of backdrops, from warm industrial textures to open natural light. But for this couple, the surrounding trails and open air were the perfect stage.
