Red hair, purple wildflowers, and a toddler who could not stop grinning. That’s what we walked into for this summer blooms family session at Token Creek Park in DeForest. The prairie was peaking. The light was soft and warm. And this little family brought the kind of easy energy that makes everything click.
Prairie Light and a Kid Who Stole the Show
Token Creek in midsummer is something else. The prairie grasses were chest-high, wildflowers everywhere, and we had that golden hour glow that turns everything amber. We shot wide to let the landscape do the talking. Then we pulled in tight whenever their daughter looked up with that giant smile. She was fearless in the flowers, reaching for petals, toddling through the tall grass. Completely in her element.
What we love about this park is how quickly families relax here. There’s room to roam and trails to wander. Kids can just be kids. No one has to stand still. No one has to perform. The way that color played against their daughter’s red hair gave us frame after frame we didn’t want to stop editing.
