Moments Like These: Central Florida Family Session
Golden hour at Lake Louisa State Park hit different for this Central Florida family session. The sun was low, the Spanish moss was catching light, and this family showed up ready to just be themselves. That’s all we ever ask for.
Letting the In-Between Do the Work
We talk a lot about the moments between the moments. The kid who tugs on a sleeve. The look two parents exchange when their toddler does something ridiculous. Those are the frames that end up on the wall, and they can’t be posed. Lake Louisa gave us open fields, soft light filtering through the oaks, and room for the kids to move. We shot wide to let that landscape breathe, then pulled in tight when the family drew close together on their own.
If you’re considering Clermont for a family session, Lake Louisa is the real deal. The park has this mix of open meadows and old-growth trees that gives us variety without ever changing locations. One minute we’re working in soft shade, and the next we step into a field flooded with warm light. That range is a gift.
This family was completely relaxed, and honestly, that is when we do our best work. No stiff smiles. No forcing anyone to look at the camera. Just connection, laughter, and a whole lot of grass-stained knees by the end. We’ve been photographing families for over twenty years, and sessions like this one remind us why we never get tired of it. Check out more of our work on our family photography portfolio.
When is the best time of year for family photos at Lake Louisa State Park?
Winter and early spring are ideal. The temperatures are comfortable, the light stays golden longer in the afternoon, and the park isn’t as crowded. We recommend booking your session about an hour before sunset for the best results.
