Peaceful Portraits: A Newborn Twin Girls Session

Two babies. Four tiny feet. One very calm morning. This newborn twin girls session reminded us why we fell in love with studio work in the first place. Everything about it was quiet, unhurried, and intentional, and the images reflect exactly that.

Soft Light, Simple Setups, Two Perfect Girls

We photograph newborn sessions at our studio inside Garver Feed Mill in Madison for a reason. The space is warm, the light is controllable, and we can set the temperature exactly where it needs to be for tiny humans. With twins, that control matters even more. One baby settles while the other stretches. You adjust, you wait, you let them lead.

That patience is where the good stuff lives. We kept every setup clean and classic for this session: soft wraps, neutral textures, a couple of hand-picked props that felt right for these two. Nothing overdone. The girls did the rest.

There’s a moment in every newborn session where everything clicks. Both babies are settled, the light is landing right, and the room goes still. We pulled in close for the individual portraits and then brought the twins back together for those side-by-side frames that make parents lose it. Rightfully so.

We’ve been doing newborn photography in Madison for years now, and twins still stop us in our tracks. The way they curl toward each other, the way their breathing syncs up. You can’t manufacture that. You just have to be ready when it happens. That’s the job, and honestly, it’s the best part of it.

Frequently Asked Questions about Newborn Sessions at Garver Feed Mill

How do you handle a newborn session with twins?

We build extra time into every twin session so there’s no rushing. Babies set the pace. We photograph each baby individually and then together, adjusting setups as needed. The studio stays warm, and we take breaks for feeding and soothing whenever the girls need it.

When should I book a newborn session with Twig & Olive?

We recommend booking during your second or third trimester so we can reserve your spot. Newborn sessions are best within the first two weeks, when babies are sleepiest and most likely to curl into those classic poses. Reach out here and we’ll get you on the calendar.
