When a One Year Old Runs the Show

There’s a rhythm to milestone sessions that’s completely different from anything else we shoot. The kid is in charge. Full stop. Our job is to stay close, stay ready, and catch the moments between the chaos. The wobble-walks, the sudden fascination with a leaf, the way she’d look back at her parents with this huge grin. We timed this session for golden hour, and it paid off. That warm, late light wrapped around her in every outfit change. It caught the fuzz on her little knit hat and turned the dry grass into something almost painterly. Golden hour with a one year old is a gamble because you’re working fast.
