A Family Worth Celebrating: Sunset Mommy and Me
Golden hour was doing its thing the evening we met this mama and her daughter at Philippe Park. The light was warm, the breeze was easy, and these two were completely in their element. This sunset mommy and me session is one we keep coming back to in our favorites folder.
Playful, Honest, and Full of Light
From the first frame, these two just had it. Mom was relaxed. Her daughter was curious about everything, picking flowers, spinning, exploring. That kind of energy is when we do our best work. We barely had to direct anything. Just followed the connection and let the evening do the rest.
Philippe Park gives us so much to work with. Mossy oaks, open shoreline, sandy paths that catch the last bit of sun. We shot wide to let the landscape breathe, then pulled in tight for the quiet moments between the two of them. If you’re considering a family session in the Tampa area, this park deserves a spot on your list.
One of our favorite moments was when her daughter wandered off to climb a stump in the tree line. We flipped to black and white for that frame because the contrast was too good to pass up. Sometimes the best portraits happen when nobody is looking at the camera.
The session ended down by the water with the two of them holding hands and laughing. No prompting, no posing. Just a mom and her girl at the end of a really good evening. That’s the kind of sunset mommy and me gallery we love handing over.
Is Philippe Park a good location for family photos in Tampa?
Philippe Park in Safety Harbor is one of the best spots near Tampa for outdoor family sessions. It has shaded oak canopies, open waterfront, and sandy paths that give us a range of backdrops all in one location. We recommend booking around sunset for the warmest light.
