Moments Like These: Wildflower Session

Blue eyes, purple wildflowers, and a golden retriever who wanted to be in every single frame. This wildflower session at Token Creek Park had us laughing from the first click, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Wildflowers, a Baby, and One Very Good Dog

Token Creek in midsummer is a completely different park than the one most people know. The wildflowers were chest-high in spots, saturated purples and greens stretching in every direction. We shot wide to take it all in, then pulled in close for the quiet stuff: tiny hands reaching for petals, that golden retriever nudging the baby’s cheek.

There’s a wooden crate shot in this gallery that stops us every time. This baby just sat there, completely content, flowers everywhere, grinning like the whole world was built for her. That’s the kind of frame you can’t plan. You just have to be ready for it.

If you’re looking for family photography in DeForest, Token Creek is one of the spots we come back to again and again. The fields give us room, the light filters in soft and warm, and kids have space to just be themselves. We tell every family the same thing: don’t worry about keeping anyone still. Let them explore. Those are the moments we’re after.

That last image, baby looking straight up at mom and dad, is honestly one of our favorites from the entire summer. It’s simple. It’s real. And it reminds us why we keep doing this after two decades behind the camera.

Frequently Asked Questions about Family Sessions at Token Creek Park

When is the best time of year for a wildflower session at Token Creek Park?

Mid to late July is the sweet spot. The wildflowers are at peak bloom, and the evening light through the fields is gorgeous. We recommend booking a session about 90 minutes before sunset for the best combination of color and soft light.

Can we bring our dog to a family photo session?

Absolutely. Pets are part of the family, and we love including them. Token Creek is a great location for it because there’s plenty of open space. Just bring a leash and a few treats, and we’ll work them into the session naturally. Reach out and let us know who’s coming.
