The Kind of Chaos We Love
This family of six showed up with energy to spare. The kids were running, laughing, tackling each other in the grass, and the parents just let it happen. That’s exactly what we want. Posed perfection has its place, but it’s never been our thing for family sessions. Give us the real stuff: the tickle fights, the toddler who won’t stop spinning, the dad pretending to be annoyed while grinning the whole time.
We shot wide for the group frames to let the landscape do its job. The warm tones in the field and the late afternoon light gave us a palette that just worked. Then we pulled in close for the quieter moments: a toddler in a red dress holding both parents’ hands, her sisters flanking the edges of the frame like little sentinels. Those in-between shots are the ones families come back to years later.
