Perfectly Imperfect: A Florida Family Session

Five kids, two parents, zero interest in standing still. That’s exactly how we like it. This Florida family session at St. Andrews State Park was loud, sandy, and full of the kind of energy you can’t fake. We showed up with our cameras and just let them be themselves.

Let Them Run, Let Them Laugh

Every family has a rhythm. This one’s rhythm was fast. Kids scrambling up oak trees, sisters piling on top of each other, someone always mid-laugh. We leaned into all of it, shooting loose and wide to let the landscape and the chaos share the frame.

The soft moments showed up on their own. A daughter reaching for her mom’s face. A toddler getting swarmed with hugs from three older sisters. We didn’t have to ask for any of it. That’s the thing about big families: the connections are already there. Our job is to be ready when they surface.

St. Andrews gave us everything we needed. Sandy trails, twisted oaks, palmetto scrub, and that warm golden-hour light filtering through the canopy. If you’re planning family photos in Panama City Beach, this park is one of those spots that feels wild and untouched without being hard to get to.

Once the kids had burned off their energy, we pulled mom and dad aside for a few just-the-two-of-them frames. The shift was immediate. Quiet. Close. Still smiling, but slower. We love when we get both sides of a family in the same session. It tells a fuller story.

This is the kind of session we live for. No stiff posing, no forced smiles, just a family being exactly who they are in a beautiful place. And honestly, that is when we do our best work.
