Sunshine and Sweet Chaos: A Sweetwater Summit Family Session

Four boys, two parents, and zero interest in sitting still. That’s what we walked into for this Sweetwater Summit family session, and honestly, it was exactly our kind of energy. The February light at Sweetwater Summit Regional Park in Bonita was warm and golden. These guys gave us every reason to keep shooting.

Let Them Run

We tell every family the same thing before a session: don’t worry about keeping the kids in line. Chase them. Tickle them. Let them climb whatever they want. The more natural the chaos, the better the photos. This crew took that advice and ran with it, literally.

There’s a moment in every family session where the parents stop performing and start reacting. Dad’s holding the baby. The older boys are orbiting him like satellites. Nobody’s looking at us. That’s the frame. We pulled in tight for those moments because they tell the real story.

The dry brush and open trails gave us a clean, warm backdrop. Nothing competed with the family for attention. If you’re looking for a spot in the Bonita area that feels wide open, this park delivers. We shot wide to let the landscape breathe, then came in close when the connection was too good to miss.

One of our favorite parts of this gallery is the couple time we carved out at the end. Once the boys were happily distracted, mom and dad got a few minutes to just be together. Laughing, holding hands, stealing a kiss between the green shrubs lining the trail. Those frames round out a family session in a way nothing else can.
