Lakeside Summer Light: A Summer Engagement Session at Olin Park

Golden hour hit and the wildflowers were everywhere. We knew this summer engagement session was going to deliver. These two showed up relaxed, laughing before we even started shooting, and the light at Olin Park did the rest. The whole evening had this easy, unhurried energy that we love working with.

Wildflowers, Lake Light, and Zero Awkwardness

We started in the meadow above the lake. The wildflowers were catching that late amber light, and the colors were ridiculous. Warm golds, soft purples, deep greens, all blurring into the background while these two held each other and laughed. We shot wide to let the landscape breathe, then pulled in close because their faces told the real story.

There’s a moment in every session where a couple forgets we’re there. For these two, it happened fast. They dropped into the tall grass, foreheads touching, completely in their own world. That’s the frame we live for. No prompting. No posing. Just connection.

Then we walked down to the dock. Lake Monona was flat and glowing. Sailboats lined up beside them, and the sky turned that soft peach color you can’t manufacture.
