Little Ones, Big Memories: A Family of Five’s Session

Three brothers who genuinely like each other, parents who aren’t afraid to be silly, and a wildflower field that looked like it was painted on. This family of five’s session at Mayberry Farms in Mayville was one of those evenings where everything just clicked.

Wildflowers, Golden Light, and Zero Posing

Mayberry Farms in the fall is something else. Black-eyed Susans and sunflowers everywhere, and the light at golden hour just pours through it all. We timed the session for that last stretch of warm sun, and it paid off in every single frame.

The boys were a blast. They tackled each other, pulled faces, and then out of nowhere would wrap their arms around each other like it was the most natural thing in the world. Those are the frames we live for. Not the “everyone look here and smile” shots, but the real ones. The messy, loud, full-of-love ones.

We always tell families to just be themselves. Chase, tickle, whisper something ridiculous. The more natural the interaction, the better we can do our job. And this family made it easy. Mom was right in the middle of the chaos, laughing just as hard as the kids.

If you’re considering Mayberry Farms for your own family session, go in the fall. The wildflower fields give us depth and color without needing to do a thing, and the open layout means we can shoot wide or pull in close depending on the moment. It’s one of those locations where the setting does half the work.

One of our favorite things about sessions with older kids is the range you get. Goofy group energy one minute, then a quiet moment between mom and dad while the boys run off. That shift gives us a gallery with real variety, and it tells the full story of who you are as a family right now.
